Please share your knowledge and info. I need your help in assessing the situation.
We are Canadian citizens. Both of us have full time jobs. I would like to hire my sister under the LCP (live-in caregiver program) to take care of our few months old daughter.
My sister in her late 20s, she has a Bachelor degree in IT. She does not have LCP training course and unable to find any institution offering the training in where she live. But she has more than a year of full time work experience in kindergarten. According to CIC website the requirement is “At least six months' training or at least one year of full-time paid work experience as a caregiver or in a related field or occupation”
My questions is, is her kindergarten work experience is considered “a related field or occupation”?
Any problem in hiring her because I'm her brother?
This issue is very important for us, any info is greatly appreciate
Thanks for sharing
There is no problem hiring a relative for the position. But first you must prove to HRSDC that NO PR/Citizen is available for the job to obtain a positive LMO,
One of the employer requirements is to provide a private room in the house for the caregiver. Currently, we do not have extra room for her, but we are moving to a bigger house.
My question is, is this required at the time when submitting the application or once approved and at the time when the visa granted?
How are the HRSDC/Service Canada going to verify?
Go through the LMO application guide. It would help you better to iron out your plans. In part, the number of rooms, and bedrooms are asked for and another document requirement is a description of the LCPs room.
