I believe he's better off getting the necessary info from each provider (what does X offer?), then compare to determine which provider offers the better deal in relation to his needs.
It's important he also knows the things to ask and consider before making a decision - a simple internet search will you give lots of information to look at.

All the best

When comparing insurance providers like Desjardins, RBC, TD, and BMO, it's important to consider several factors to determine which institute may be paramount to the customer. Here are a few considerations:

  1. Reputation and Financial Stability: Look into the reputation and financial stability of each institution. Research their track record, customer reviews, and industry ratings to assess their reliability and ability to fulfill insurance claims.
  2. Coverage Options: Evaluate the coverage options offered by each institution. Consider the specific terms, conditions, and benefits of their term life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and critical illness insurance policies. Ensure that the coverage meets your brother's specific needs, including sufficient coverage amounts and appropriate waiting periods.
  3. Premiums and Affordability: Compare the premium rates provided by each institution for the desired coverage. It's crucial to find a balance between affordability and the extent of coverage offered.
  4. Customer Service: Assess the quality of customer service provided by each institution. Consider factors such as responsiveness, ease of communication, and the availability of knowledgeable representatives who can address inquiries or concerns.
  5. Claims Process: Research the claims process for each institution's affordable life insurance. Look into the efficiency and transparency of their claims handling procedures, as well as any potential limitations or exclusions that may affect the claims process.
  6. Additional Services and Benefits: Consider any additional services or benefits offered by the institutions, such as online account management, policy flexibility, or value-added features that may enhance the overall customer experience.
It's advisable for your brother to gather quotes and review the policy details from each institution to make an informed decision based on his specific requirements and preferences. Additionally, consulting with an independent insurance advisor or broker can provide valuable insights and personalized recommendations based on your brother's unique circumstances.
