Letters from family/friends - do they need to be notarized.

I am applying for PR sponsorship via common-law in-land. I'm currently gathering letters from friends/family and wondering if we need to get these notarized.

I can't see anywhere on the IMM 5589 checklist saying they need to be, but on old posts users' said that at least two letters need to be notarized. Has it changed?

They do not need to be notarized
