Hi!

I'm a Canadian citizen (Born and bred!) and I live in the UK with an indefinite leave to remain visa. I'm currently living with my fiancee. She is British. We've been living together for a year now and we're planning on getting married but want to know what we need to do to be able to pick up sticks and move back to Canada permanently.

I have family and friends in Canada who would be willing to help us get set up and would stay with my grandmother until we get on our feet.

I'm totally clueless about all of this (moved to England when I was 7, Mom dealt with all of the immigration/visas before) and just looking for some information about what we'll need to do! Looked at the website thoroughly and have seen about Family sponsors; but just feeling a bit overwhelmed. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks, Em

Update. I've discovered that the best way for us to move would be for me to sponsor her. I've tried to find out how much money I'd have to have behind me to do this but I've got no idea!

wasn't this question already posted in another thread?

there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship. the only financial interest CIC seems to have is whether the sponsor has drawn on social welfare (NOT EI or mat leave) prior to sponsorship, and the likelyhood it will be drawn on by sponsor and applicant upon PR approval. There are many sponsors who do not earn an income and have no issue with eligibility.
