Sorry, I can't find an answer in the forums to this but once I submit my CEC application am I allowed to leave Canada on vacation? I am currently here on a work permit for a specified company (the work permit expires in 2 years time) but am looking at leaving Canada for up to 3 months (to visit family back home) while my application is processing.
If I do leave, would I need to advise CIC of this? If 3 months is too long then what would be an acceptable amount of time to leave?

u can leave and come back anytime with a temporal resident visa(multiple entry), u dont need to inform cic and it wont have any impact on ur application because ur not yet a pr holder.

you are allowed to leave on vacation and you can even do your medical while youre away
i called the cic call centre for the exact same reason and that was the answer i got
the hospital or the doctor still has to be on the cic website as certified or whatever its called
but as long as they are registered on cic website, you can get your medical outside canada and send the result to your visa office
and plus you dont need to tell cic youre going on vacation
i am not 100% sure about this one but...
if you gave them your email address, i think they can still contact you even when youre away, right?
