Leaving Canada after getting PR, but no ECOPR/PR CARD yet

Hi, our PR was approved.
We sent pictures and confirmed residency, Haven't received ECOPR or the PR CARDS yet.
Our work permits are valid for another year.
Does anyone know for sure and can back it up by some data if we can leave Canada for vacation and re-enter with our work permits, or if we are hostages here until receiving the actual PR card?

You can leave Canada but you should assume re-entering on your work permits will not be possible. Depending on how you plan to return, you may need either your PR cards or PR Travel Documents to board a plane. The main exception being if you plan to re-enter from the US through a land border crossing.

The work permits will be canceled once you have landed and become PRs.
