I landed for my PR on Aug 7th but I only received an email notifying me that they started processing my application. My friend landed 2 weeks earlier than me and he has already received his PR card. (He told me that his application was created in July while mine says today).
Do I need to wait another 61 days for them to process my pr card? I already bought flights to the States on Oct 20th... Is there any document I can apply for, or I'd better stay in Canada until I receive my PR cards?

Well if you can wait you should. You will need the card when you choose to re-enter. So alternatively you wil have to find a way to get the card couriered to you. Now IRCC will dispatch the card to the Canadian address you've provided. It's for you to figure who collects it at that address and delivers it to you outside Canada.
