Hello,

I arrived in Canada on a tourist visa last year in May. My wife is a student in Canada and we changed my status to spouse open work permit. So, now I have a valid OWP and a valid TRV.

We would like to go on a holiday outside of Canada, but I am just wondering if I'd be allowed back in Canada. My OWP expires in 2020 and my TRV in 2028, but I currently don't have a job in Canada - would that be a problem?

Also, my TRV says "tourist" because this is how I arrived in Canada originally, not "worker". I do have a valid OWP, but would tourist TRV prevent me from coming back to Canada after one month? I don't count as a tourist anymore, but my visa says tourist.

Any advice is appreciated!
