Hi! I have a friend who was diagnosed with latent TB in May 2024 during a routine medical check for a new job. He arrived in Canada in September 2023, so this falls within the two-year period requiring disclosure on his post-graduate work permit application.

Since it’s latent TB, it is inactive and not contagious. He completed the full course of treatment provided by our local health clinic and received a certificate confirming he has no active TB and no restrictions related to work, study, or travel.

We're still very worried, though. Has anyone gone through something similar?

TLDR:
Friend diagnosed with latent TB in May 2024, arrived in Canada Sept 2023. Completed treatment, has medical clearance. Still worried — anyone with similar experience?

Worried about what?

Worried it would affect his application and cause a refusal.

It won’t impact but may require ongoing medical surveillance. Even if TB is found while abroad it only delays an application until you have completed your treatment. If otherwise healthy wouldn’t worry.
