Make sure your wife gets the B4 authorised and stamped by the CBSA - this is the mistake I made when I flew into Toronto. I had the form filled out but the agent who we went to, although I had ticked 'goods to follow' on my landing card snd he asked me what I had to follow, the agent did not ask to see the B4 or direct me to have it authorised. He just stamped the landing card said 'welcome back' and off we went. It caused me all sorts of issues getting my goods cleared - I naively thought having the form filled out was good enough and considered the agent at the airport knew more than I did - I should have insisted - maybe he was new to the job!
Having been recently burglarized, I suggest taking photos whether required for landing or not. Having photos will help with insurance claims and with identifying your stolen jewelry if it is found. I hope it never happens to you, but even if lost in a fire, or down a drain, you need photos.
