Okay, I thought maybe if I posted a more concise question I would get (better) answers.
If I am not yet ready to import my car, but I need to land, but I will be landing in my car, can I do that? or will they insist I import my car first and turn my away?

You put you car on the goods to follow list. CBSA will allow you to drive the car to your residence and return it to the US. You would not be able to use it to drive around in.
So I landed, but they wouldn't let me in with the car. So I am a permanent resident of Canada, but I am stuck in the states because they won't allow me to bring in my car. They would not let me import my car at a later date
I wonder if they changed the rules as it seems like people did this in the past. But I called the Canadian border services before I landed and they told me if I was driving my car into Canada, then I would have to import it.
But funny enough, I exported my car and then when I landed in Canada, the woman who processed my COPR forgot to import my car and I realized it when I left to get back into the car and leave. So I had to go back in and see another person to import my car.
It's too bad that they didn't "forget" to import your car like they did with me. Although for me, I actually WANTED to import my car. LOL
Same thing with that 3 day issue for exporting. They were so adamant about the fact that the car MUST be in the States after you submit the paperwork and you MUST wait 72 hours before exporting it, but when I arrived to drop off the paperwork, they said they could do the export right away. Go figure! But I had to wait anyway as I didn't have my stuff with me which was in storage in the US.
So, Iamrobot, can you still do the car export and import now? Do you have your letter with you from your bank, etc?
oops, sorry, Iamrobot. I didn't realize that you needed another document to give them for exporting. I hadn't seen your earlier posts. Hmm, I'm sorry, but I can't be of help with that. I think you are one of the few people that has imported your car with a lien on it. Most banks just say no.
Not to detract from his problem, which is certainly tough... But I'm hoping to land this week, or maybe next. To avoid this problem (as I am not yet ready to import my car) should I rent a car to drive down and land? Or take my husband's (he's Canadian, and the car is registered in Ontario)?
