My wife will be landing next month, and I (sponsor) will be accompanying her. We are wondering about the proof of funds requirement. In preparation for our move, I and she have both transferred our abroad savings to my Canadian bank account (in my name). We'll be setting an account up for her on landing, but until then she technically has zero funds in a bank account of her own. Is immigration going to have an issue with that, or is it ok because I'm with her and can prove I have the funds and I'm her sponsor?
Also what is the best way to prove funds? Printout? Or could I just show them from my mobile banking app?

It's actually possible. There's a post from graham_crackers in the October 2016 thread. They were asked to show proof of funds. It seems to be a Quebec thing. Someone else who landed at the same border crossing was also asked but didn't have to provide the proof and the answer they gave was sufficient. This happened about a month ago.

It isn't a requirement to land, so if CBSA makes a mistake in asking, the person can just point out that there is no proof of funds required in spousal sponsorship.
