I'm wondering if I can get some input here.
My US wife and teen step daughter will land in Vancouver by air, stay a couple weeks, then return to finish loose ends (work, school).
In about 3 months following, they will rent a large U-Haul with home effects, sofa, beds, tv, personal items.
They will also pull a trailer with a 1978 Jeep CJ on it, and also following, drive a 2005 Toyota 4Runner and enter BC.
What I need to know is about on her initial landing by air,"Goods to Follow" declaration.
What forms do we present at landing, and what to write for items? Is it basic "Household items" and give serial numbers of say TV, computer, vehicle serial numbers/VIN?
Then also, eventually at the border, same list? I read something about needing to get Export forms etc for vehicles from US and receipt of purchase. What if a person has title/ownership docs and no past receipt, since they were bought years ago second hand?
I need all the help I can get here, as I can't find a post regarding this type of entry, what forms, what steps to take beforehand.
Thanks!

I would suggest you review the below link, as there are many regulations with respect to bringing vehicles into Canada. I do not know for a fact, but I think you may have a problem with the 1978 Jeep being imported into Canada.

Thanks, I can't see why, since many people buy older vehicles and bring them in.
I appreciate the link, but it basically is for a person just going there and buying a vehicle and want to import it.
In this case, it's a person landing in Canada, with personal effects, one being the vehicle.
The Jeep is fine, as it's older then 15 years and exempt from the RIV program.

And in any even I do not think it matters if your are coming as a PR or not with respect to vehicles, basically the same Transport of Canada rules would apply except when you come as a PR you may not need to pay import duties on it.

Check the following settlement page, it has a lot of information specific to your questions.

Thank you, a much better outline of things on that page!
I was hoping to get input from anyone who's gone through the process themselves, just to hear what they did.
