So...
I just wanted to ask if anyone has done their landing on foot?
I want to take a train there and a cab and cross the bridge to the American side for the rejection letter and back to the Canadian side on foot?
It should be allowed i think?

Not sure about Rainbow bridge, but if you are going through Fort Erie, I know that you don't have to go to the US side, just turn back after you pass the Canadian Border Checkpoint and reverse direction. That's what I did. You DON'T need a rejection from the US Side to Land.
Edit: I looked on the Google Maps view of Rainbow bridge, you essentially can do the same there it would seem. Just get into the Rainbow Bridge Border Checkpoint plaza and tell the officer that you want to Land.
That's essentially what we did at Fort Erie, except that we drove. We didn't go all the way to the US side. Just turned around right after crossing the Border and BEFORE getting on the bridge.
