Hi, my spouse will be landing at Pearson airport in early May. I am just wondering how long it would take? The flight is supposed to arrive at 7pm. The thing is she is coming with our sons. Therefore it's important to know how long the waiting time could be so that we can prepare. I am kinda worried because it took me around 6 hours to do landing at Rainbow bridge recently.
Please share your recent experience if you landed on YYZ.
I did my landing on foot and the whole process took me an hour at Peach Arch in BC. It all depends on how busy they are and how many people they have to land at that time. 7PM seems to be a not-very-busy time to me. It will probably take them 1 hour to 2 hours tops if everything is in place.
Just bite the bullet and wait for them! Even if it means to wait for 6 hours! It's an immigration process it's not a walk in the park.
I landed at YYZ Terminal 3 (the less busy one I supposed) two weeks ago.
It was 3pm-ish and the landing took only 15 mins, and another 30min for getting new SIN at Service Canada (just next to the landing counter) and then another 10mins or so for CBSA process. All times mentioned include waiting time, so the whole process took less than an hour.

guess it depends on time of day whether for example trans atlantic flights arrive usually 3 to 5 pm ish and can be busy depending which terminal plus if a single person clearing or a family as in OPs case. So arriving at 7 pm might be lucky but end of day if you allow for 1 to 2 hours and they get through in less than hour as per this example then great. For sure unlikely to be 6 hours unless they of course fail to decalre something they should, which of course they will not.

Oh wow 6 hours! The first time I landed at YYZ clearing with CBSA took about 30 mins since they needed to verify my permit. This was about 8 years ago. Since them, most of my inbound flights are at T3 however the fairly new kiosks for Canadian Residents has decrease the wait time alot! I really don't foresee you being there for 6 hours once everything is in order.

Thanks, it seems landing through flight and through land are different. In my case, landing is the least priority process for CBSA, which keeps pushing us back until they clear high-risk travellers. As such ppl came in all the time through border crossing, we have to wait again and again infinitely, not a very pleasant experience.
