guys who landed in alberta, can you please advise which is better(caraway or coutts)?
i invite everyone to share their recent landing experience in alberta for the benefits of other applicants.
were you asked for any other documents other then COPR and visa?
what kind of questions have you been asked by the canadian immigration officer?
how long did it take?
i think you went to coutts for work permit which is usually hard because they prefer applicants to send their applications to cpc-vegreville and not come to the border but for landing as a PR is totally different.
just would like to know if you don't mind sharing:
*were you asked for any sort of proof of funds?
*were you asked for the work permits?
*what kind of questions and documents have you been asked for in general other then VISA and COPR?
thanks a lot for the inputs and congratlations on becaming a PR
Just prepare your work permits (all) copr and passport ,refusal entry from the US side. Officer will ask you why you are there just tell them you will do landing. They didnt ask for extra documents but it is good to bring incase
I have gone to Coutts 3 times for Work/Visitor permits etc; BAD experience 2 out of 3 times... YES, treated like a convict is the perfect description!!! and all because of an error on CIC's part that had an incorrect expiry date on my sons work permit. My lawyer says neither one is good - Coutts OR Caraway, especially compared to border crossings in the east, Ontario in particular, he says are much, much better. I will probably fly out to US and fly back in to Toronto to do landing then fly home to Edmonton, can't deal with the stress of the borders in Alberta especially after a 6 hour drive... But I can't decide until I receive my CoPR!!!!!! Hopefully soon....
