Does anybody know if it is possible for us to land, apply for the card, and then put a friend's address to receive it for me and then mail it to me wherever I would be at that moment, so we have up to 2 years to move to alberta for good?
What happens if we land but do not apply for the PR card and then come back to US And once we get a suitable job, then shift permanently? Is this how everyone does?
(I know this question is way too early for me to ask)
You don't apply for your PR card. It is given to you (mailed) after you land as a permanent resident. It's used as a proof of your PR status. If you don't give CIC an address when you land, and leave the country, you will have to give them your address upon your return. Note that you don't have to have a PR card but you need it to travel (together with your passport) and will need it for other purposes such as applying for health card, SIN number etc.
Would they accept my address in Brazil or in US or any other place in Canada (I don't have any friends in Alberta)?
So they could send it straight to me or to friends that are not in Alberta and they would send t to me..
Does anyone know if they would do that?

This is based on one of friend's experience. If you don't get your PR card and leave Canada without it, you will need travel document (cost around $50) from CIC to re-enter Canada.
But if they mail the card to me in Brazil I would have the card and no problems to re-enter...right?

You can ask when you land if they will mail it to your friends in Canada. If they will not, you can tell them to hold your PR card for now. You can go back, prepare your move. When you want to go back to Canada, you can either apply for a PR travel document or if you are visa exempt, just go and show your landing papers. Once you are in Canada to stay, you can apply for your PR card.
Thanks for offering help cchabert, but that could still be possible...maybe you land before me...I am just planing to go next year...I've heard crisis is bad and it has been difficult to find job there...and right now I have a good one here in Brazil...
