Finally completed it all today! We drove from calgary to the carway border to flagpole and finally sort out my PR! :D

We left at 5:40 and got there at 7:20, At the US side they took my passport, asked me to park and come inside, where i waited for about ten mins then a US officer gave me a turnaround slip and sent me on my way (no questions no instructions no nothing!). So we went on back to the canadian customs side where the officer took our passports and said for us to park in a bay and go upstairs to sign the relevant forms. Once upstairs we had to write our mailing address in calgary, phone number & date i arrived in the country on the back of one of the forms, then they went off with that my COPR and my passport for about 20 mins.
When they came back they gave me a sheet with info on being a PR in canada, and showed me where to sign on the COPR etc then sent me downstairs to complete the goods to follow bits etc.
The goods to follow was easy but took a while, i listed my things in rather great details when i could have generalised more so had used about 8 pages, for reference if you want to make their life easier have no more than 6 pages, or they have to write the barcode number on the remaining pages! after we did that then we were sent off on our way!

Overall it was quick and easy and totally painless (especially considered with the process until this point!) There was nobody else there at 7:20 but things started to get busy by about 8ish (carway is currently open 7am-11pm)
So no all thats left to do is get a SIN card, sort out healthcare and my drivers licence and then we can relax for a while!

Congratulations!!! Hopefully somebody smiled and said Welcome to Canada.

If not, WELCOME (BACK) TO CANADA!

I actually commented to my husband that not one person said welcome to canada, nor did they smile but i put that down to the bad weather and it being early :p There was a sign at the duty free cafe that had letters spelling welcome to canada though lol!

Nobody said it to me (or smiled) at the border either, but at least the woman who handed me my passport at the consulate did.

Anyway, congrats. I know you're glad it's over.
Allison
