Korean resident: entering Canada on a visitor visa while student visa active?

My gf has a student visa that expires in Dec 2013, however she is currently back home in Korea and will arrive just before her student visa expires. She finished school early, thats why she went back. But now she wants to come to Canada as a visitor and stay with me for 6 months as a visitor. Can she come in as a visitor even though she still has an active student visa for a few days after she arrives?

Since she doesn't need a visa to enter Canada, she should be okay. She can explain to the officer that she isn't studying anymore, just visiting
