Could anyone clarify if the whole process will slowdown or freeze due to the upcoming elections on 21 October. I already see that there are not many updates as few weeks ago..... looks like its slowing down..... do you people feel the same?
No, I don't think it will have any effect on processing times. An election in Canada isn't the same as many other countries where the whole gov't basically shuts down coming up to voting day. In Canada everything carries on as normal, only possible slow down is on the election day, on that day every employee is allowed 3 hours I think, to take time off work to go vote. Election day is not a holiday.
So, IMO, I don't think the election will have any impact on processing times.
Me!!! Our application transferred nearly two months ago. I'm super happy that everyone else seems to have their applications go through more quickly - but super annoyed that ours is taking longer.
They haven't changed our application number, they haven't asked for additional documents. Biometrics were given in July and we passed the medical exams on August 14.
Is it worth calling or getting notes? Or is this just the unlucky side of normal?

Permanent Residence Application Status Decision Made
Is there anyone in the June group who hasn't received medical request yer? I haven't received mine yet and I'm getting really worried about it. Biometrics was completed August 15.
Me! I have submitted the India PCC with the application and they are requesting it again. Not sure why. They also asked for USA PCC which we did not submit.
No you need to pay it before they can make the request. If you haven't paid it already they will send you an email/letter asking you to pay the fee and then submit the receipt via webform. Only after that will you receive a request for biometrics.
