I don’t think anyone can speed up third party or this background check in general... maximum who can be helpful is mp.

Third party usually is CBSA ,CSIS and maybe other agencies . You can order CBSA note to know the security check activities in your application and if its finalized or still in progress . I guess this is the only way to know

Hey guys,

I need a suggestion. I was unemployed when I sponsored my wife last year (13th June 2018, already 12 months over). I got the SA(sponsor approval) mail 9th Nov 2018. Currently the medical was done of my wife and the file required an interview as per GCMS notes and the interview date is not scheduled yet.
Recently I got a job. Should I update CIC about my(sponsor) new employment? If yes, then how should I update(process)?
Appreciate your suggestion.

Yeah tried contacting MP, no luck. I’m not physically in canada, so my correspondence was through email. I’m guessing they are preoccupied with the elections and all.

Sent webform in mid September..to which their response was that a third party is conducting background check so it’s not in their control. ‍

A person from September thread recently also got reply from London where they wrote that background check takes from 6-12 months since it started.... so kind of nothing we can do but wait.

Often times you can’t tell. Sometimes they update GC and sometimes they don’t. If you’re file has been transferred then it’s likely that the background check as begun or is about to begin.
