Is it mandatory to work in jobs related to my engineering studies to get pr in canada.
What are the chances to get PR if i secure experience in posts such as administrative assistant or supervisor(management position).
Is it a common practice in canada to work in jobs not related to studies??
Not mandatory. You can work in any job as long as it meets the requirements of NOC 0,A,B.
However, there needs to be some credibility. For example, an engineer can easily work in marketing/administration/retail, but if you have an arts degree and you claim to be be working as a nuclear engineer, it's bound to raise questions, and you will have to show how you got the necessary training to do the job.
Yes, it's fairly common to work in jobs not related to studies.
Kk..thanks for the reply.
I will be graduating as a masters holder(M.Eng) in canada, if i want to work in jobs like administrative assistant,Do i need to enroll for additional courses like some online courses provided by community colleges.

Ok employers look for following:
1. that you have proper work visa / PR (most of them do not want to go through the hustle to get LMIA).
2. that you fulfill minimum criteria required by law (like to have certain diplomas or certification for certain professions)
And that is more or less it. Anything above that is dictated by supply and demand (if there are lot of employers but few people willing to work, then they are happy to get a beginner and train him. If there are lot of applicants, but only few openings, then they can add all kind of requirements like diplomas, years of experience, languages and such).
However to get job is somehow separated from PR process itself (you can get job on LMIA, despite not being PR or you can struggle even when you are PR).
