I know there is a lot of guidance when it comes to how to bring jewelry from India. But somewhere in the forum, it was mentioned that we need some sort of proof that :
1. we bought the jewelry (especially if we have diamond rings or earrings).
2. We need a appraisal certificate for all the jewelry.
Is that true? I have jewelry that was given to me in the wedding my mum and other folks, engagement rings etc..I dont have any bill of purchase or proof that they are indeed mine.
Will Custom create issue because of this??

Is that true? It's not necessary to have proff of purchase because as you rightly pointd out, jewelry may be gifts for which we will definitely not have proof of purchase I have jewelry that was given to me in the wedding my mum and other folks, engagement rings etc..I dont have any bill of purchase or proof that they are indeed mine.
Will Custom create issue because of this?? No they will not, all you may obtain now is an estimate of value from a jeweler but even that is not compulsory. Just include them in your 'goods accompanying/goods to follow' forms with an approximate value. As long as the quantity and value is not excessive, you will be fine

I am landing in a week and my wife will join me after months. She will bring some jewelry with her.
The question is:- Should i declare all her jewelry in form B4 or B4A (GTF)
OR
I do not need to declare anything and she needs to bring Form B4?
