It is possible open work permit and close work permit?

Im almost finishing my first year of open work permit that I have,
Im applying for nominee program and they are asking me to ask my employer to get support for a close work permit, because there wont be enough time to process my application.
In the other hand Im in the pool for international experience in Canada in order to get a new open work permit.

Anybody knows if I can get an open work permit even if I have a current close work permit? Because I am afraid and I know that I am gonna have so few hours in my current work, and I gonna need to move to another one. But if I have this close work permit I would be trapped and I wont be able.

So let me know if once I have a close work permit I will still have the chance to get a open work permit

Anyone who knows about a similar situation please let me know, it would be very welcome!!
