According to the document checklist, u have to include all marriage certificates if married more than once, then divorce and annulment documents. I have been married twice and now living separetely. My marriage certificate from my last spouse is no longer with me because since we went our seperate ways, my spouse took it and kept it with him and now i don't know how to trace him( no contact information anymore) I currently hold only marriage license from this marriage but no more marriage certificate and i hold marriage certificate and divorce from the other marriage. So how will i explain this situation to the VO????? will i write a written explanation explaining my situation and include a copy of the marriage licence???? will this affect my chances of getting PR??? will marriage licence from this marriage satisfy the VO without the actual marriage certificate??? pls help me. I am in a critical situation right now and this application need to be mailed out next week.
Thanx scylla, but I am not talking about divorce certificate because i have divorce documents and marriage certificate from my first marriage. My second marriage is the issue here because my spouse left with the marriage certificate and i lost his contact(we never divorced though and my current status is legally separated). I only hold marriage license from this marriage and not a certificate. pls seniors help!!!!!
Are you adding your spouse to your CEC application? In the case he is included in your application it's a must to provide a copy of your marriage certificate, but If you are not requesting PR for him I believe you can write a letter to explain why you can't provide this document. I suggest you call CIC to clarify. There is no information on the website for this particular situation.

Thanx dear and No, spouse is not included in my application. it's just that i am trying to include all the required documents from the documents checklist. Calling CIC doesn't help sometimes because seniors here on this forum are more experienced than the call centre agents
