My s/o is a Canadian citizen since 2008, for proof of identity I'm submitting my birth certificate and my passport as applicant. For the sponsor for him, can he just submit a copy of his Canadian passport and Canadian citizenship paper? Or does he have to include his birth certificate too as it's in Chinese and he was born in China? If so, does it have to be notarized? I'm hoping we don't have to and that his passport and citizen paper is enough. Any tips? And do our photocopies of our passport etc have to be certified true copy?
the sponsor could submit only Canadian passport and/or Canadian citizenship paper.....birth certificate not required from sponsor, only from applicant and their dependent children

Follow the checklist. It is clearly stated to send a photocopy of ONE of the listed status documents for the sponsor and a foreign birth certificate isn't one of the options.
If a document is required to be certified, that will be specified.
