Is TOEFL or IELTS a requirement of Canadian Embassy ?

Hi , i got admission in SAIT college Alberta for september 2012 session.
as i have very less time to apply for visa i am thinking to defer my admission for winter 2013.
is this thing favorable ? or i should try for visa right now?

is IELTS mandatory for applying study permit (for canada) ? as i have got admission and i went for TOEFL. . can i apply with TOEFL, for visa?

I have fixed deposit on my name. will it work as liquid cash or i should have money in my saving account for showing my expenses and fee??

IELTS or TOFEL is not the requirement of the embassy but it adds to your visa case, so it is better to apply with it.......

why not, it will prove that you will adapt to their system quickly.....

I think TOEFL will be just as good. Since it is equivalent of IELTS and is accepted by so many canadian universities. So yeah I don't think that they should have any problems with TOEFL.

It is not a requirement but they strongly suggest to send the IELTS score to the embassy. Haven't read about TOEFL anywhere, so if ur planning to give a english proficiency test, go for IELTS
