I sent my full docs with 12 points in IELTS test. I had got following bands
Listening - 7.5, reading - 7.5, writing - 6 and speaking -6. My consultant is saying to attend the IELTS again as I got 0.5 band less in writing and speaking. Still he has sent my full docs with this IELTS scores. Can anybody tell can Canada PR application be through with 63 points i.e. 4 points less.

Re: 63 points application will be through ?

My consultant already sent all docs with IELTS bands to visa office. He said reappear or do revaluation of my IELTS score.

Any less than 67 points will almost certainly lead to rejection, especially with the new regime of strictness that CIC seem to be imposing.

I have heard in the past of CIC using "positive discretion" and applicants who are economically viable getting through on 65 or 66 points. But I think even 65 or 66 points will not be enough now.

If you can only get 63 points I think it is pretty irresponsible for your consultant to send your application. IMO you have two choices:
1) Try to improve your score by retaking IELTS test, if you can get 4 more points to make 67 then this will be good enough
2) Try to get a job offer and apply on FSW2, since you gain extra points by having an employment offer

I really think you will be rejected on 63 points and I am amazed an immigration lawyer would even consider sending off an application like this. Basically you will now have to wait for your application to fail and then re-submit it with new IELTS results.

Is there any way you can recall your application (via courier)? May be easier to recall it now rather than waiting for it to fail.

Anyway, best of luck,
Wayne.

Be sure of a rejection

Only option you have is to take IELTS to score 16 or add 4 points any other possible way and send the proof of 67 points before you get rejection.

Any attempts I've heard of to send further documents to CIC have failed - they don't seem to match up documents to applications, this only seems possible once the application has made it to visa office.

IMO best thing to do is recall the application if possible, and then resend with new IELTS results once hitting 67 points. If recall is not possible then still do new IELTS asap and wait for application to be returned, then re-send with new score (if it makes 67 points).

And seriously how much are you paying your consultant to send an application with only 63 points? IMO I'd get another consultant! (or better still save yourself some money and do it yourself :))

Wayne.

very strange, what kind a consulatant he/she is, you should check your other documents as well if he made other errors

Re: 63 points application will be through ?

No way with 63 points, even 66 is doubtful..

@dny : Your consultant is not good...with 63 points you can't go ...straight forward rejection .

Re: 63 points application will be through ?

hi DNY....

You have not mentioned when you have submitted your initial case...

If it is before 26th June 2010...then may be u get a chance....but after 26th no way of qualifying..

If its submitted on earlier date..then yu can submitted your improved IELTS score at the time of sending full application to the respective VISA OFFICE...

All the best...Regards
Johny

Re: 63 points application will be through ?

one more thing...improving half a point is not very difficult.....if yu practice regularly and try to grasp some basic things...you will get success..

I think you just need some motivation....and some more practice...

If you can afford to have a personal english teacher...this will help you with your written and speaking part...

My friend advised me to make small sentences while speaking...and also avoid utterring words like aaa..mmm..etc. speak slow, grammatically correct and shd be coherent with related questions..
while in writing...give 3-5 minutes in understanding the TOPIC 2..make some points...then start with general idea and support that idea with two or three examples...finish off nicely..all the best..!!

Re: 63 points application will be through ?

My breakup of points is like this
Age - 10 + education - 20 + experience - 21 + IELTS - 12 = 63

Thats all !!!
