I have appeared for IELTS and scored 7 bands- L 6.5, R 7, W 6.5 and S 7. This result may or may not be sufficient for me to claim 67 points.

Now I am planning to appear on 5th of Jan 2013 for new test to improve my score.

If by chance, my new IELTS score is less than old IELTS score, which score will be considered for me. If it happens , can i continue with the old IELTS result? Is there any rule that we have to show the latest score?Or Is it upto me which result I should use.

Please advise. I am in a big Dilemma. I can't afford even a single risk.

You can use whichever one you want.

Thank you @PMM and @Bali :)

Just one more question please.

While registering for the second IELTS exam, should i mention the details of first IELTS exam taken. There is question asked : have you ever attempted IELTS and asked about its details? Ideally i think i have to mentioned the details because anyways they would have my details.

And if i mention the details of first exam in registration of 2nd test and in future i have to use the score of 1st test (if 2nd goes bad :( ), will it create any problem for me. Actually i scored 7 in 1st IELTS but i need 7.5. But i cannot take any chances with my earlier score 'coz thats not bad and i can use it somewhere.

Hi,
It doesnt make any difference even if u mention about ur old ielts exam during second attempt as well..immigration will consider whtever ielts exam u produce to them as part of documentation for points...i hv done same myself so no worries n go ahead widout any doubts.....
Goodluck
