Hey so I got my study permit approved in 2016 for a 4 years degree at the university of prince edward island. i did one semester there and then transferred my credits to another designated learning institute in ottawa. I updated my cic page with that info and have finished 2 semesters there and am planning to finish the rest here as well.
I heard from someone that UPEI (my old uni) informs cic if a student leaves that uni and it results in them cancelling the study permit.. would that happen even if i transferred credits and informed cic about it right away? Also i just finished a year of studying at my new university so if there had been an issue, i'd know by now right..?
I'm also back home for the summer now (will be back in september, so im gone from end of april to sept)
I have done all that and I have my visa until 2019 so thats not the issue. I just wanted to know if theres any way i could check my current study permit status because it doesnt say anything on my cic profile

On the online application that you submitted for study permit where we used to check the status of background checks and medical results, there is a field that states whether your permit is valid or not so you can check there. Also, if you changed the DLI number on your online portal right away then yes, your permit is still valid.

are you sure because it says that site is only applicable for applications that are currently in process. mine isn't in process.
on the online services page (where i went to change my DLI number and link my application) the last status on my study permit is from 2016 and it says its valid.. i guess if there was any changes that would've showed there instead

Yes I am sure. If it shows valid there then there is no need for you to worry about. My friend did the same thing and many others do too on this forum.
