[SOLVED]
Medical Exam is a must indeed for PORTUGAL, but not ALL of PORTUGAL, Azores and Madeira archipelago don't require this medical exam, so only mainlanders do.
[/SOLVED]

Hi everyone, and I am applying online from Portugal for a Study Permit, this is the documents I have so far:
- Letter of Acceptance (George Brown College)
- Proof of funds (Bank Extracts + Declaration from bank saying my dad can support me financially with 1000 Canadian dollars / month)
- Passport Photocopies
- 2 Photos according to specifications

Missing:
- Medical Examination

So my question is do i really need a Medical Examination in order to get the Letter of Introduction (which leads to Study Permit)?

Also, where exactly do I apply, the CIC official site or French Embassy? Seing as I live in Portugal and my Canadian Embassy is located in France, i am a little confused because all links to apply for a study permit end up in the CIC official site.

Re: Is Medical Exam a Must?

Also, should I include my TOEFL exam scores in the application?

Re: Is Medical Exam a Must?

According to this list, you do need a medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/dcl.asp

You only need to include the TOEFL scores if asked to do so by CIC. I haven't heard of European citizens being asked for language exam scores - I'm Finnish and didn't include any proof of language proficiency, and got the visa.

Re: Is Medical Exam a Must?

Ok, thank you guys, i just found the answer in a old topic.

The thing is, although i am PORTUGUESE, i live in AZORES, which is an archipelago of PORTUGAL, and astonishing enough (and lucky for me, and bad for all living in the mainland) they do not require the medical exam for the AZORES ( :P :P :P :P). Also MADEIRA archipelago doesn't need it.

@eloku: can you elaborate more on the documents you send? Especially the proof of funds. Do you think what i have will be enough?

If the amount of money in the bank account is equal to or more than your first year tuition fees + $10,000 then it should be enough. I sent bank statements from my father's savings account, nothing more - it contained significantly more money than the minimum amount, but less than what would be required for my whole degree (4 years). I hadn't paid any tuition fees in advance.
