Is lateral entry possible in Canadian universities?

Hello, I'm a high school student in India who's planning to study B.E in canada but I was wondering if a lateral entry would be possible for me in Canadian universities if I finish a 3 year diploma course in India? Should I go for the diploma or finish my high school?

I don't wanna waste an extra year so any helpful reply will be appreciated.
