donot know specifically about london, but the ONLY joint account that is acceptable with most of CHC local offices is the one with SPOUSE.
So, I guess London CHC also might be okay with it --- however, as i said, i am not sure about london office.
I'm the main (principal) applicant but I have submitted my wife's savings account details which are not even statements just a letter confirmaing the final balance, not even joint, they (London Office) still accepted it.
All they need is the proof of funds (liquid cash) under main or any accompanying applicants name.
Fund proof letter/statements must under main or any accompanying applicants name. (Accompanying means a person included in you appalication such as dependants etc..)

Yes, the bank statement displays my name and my father's name as well. The application is only for me, I am the principal applicant. Nobody else is included with my application.Regards.
Just to avoid queries better to open up a seperate account under your name and transfer the money from joint account to your new account. Even if they asked from where the money come from, you can tell them that you have been saving your money in an joing account, for this immigration purpose you have transfered it to your own account. Or you can tell them that your father inherited to you.
Don't try to include someone who's not in your application (queries may raise).
Doesn't really matters the money is in which current/savings/fixed deposit account. If you can take a letter from the Bank confirming XXXXXX.xx is the final balance in their original letter headed paper with their stamp, they'll accept it. Thats what I did and also I have submitted my payslips/paystubs for last 3 months.
