I'm currently in Canada on a working holiday visa and have been working for a digital marketing agency in Ontario for 6 months now. My visa is due to expire summer 2021.
I'm currently planning on entering the Express Entry (CEC) in September, and should have an estimated CRS score of anywhere between 450-486 (depending on my French level). So my chances of an invite are borderline possible if I'm patient enough.
However, my employer has said he'd do whatever he can to keep me on, including trying for an LMIA.
I'm torn about this. I definitely want to work for my employer but I doubt it would get approved. The only unique standout points I can think for me having the job is:
- Existing work experience at an important growth period in the company.
- Replacing me would require slow business operations down and potentially lose us clients/growth.
- I bring post-sec education, foreign language abilities, soft skills, some minor creative/tech skills.
- I am being promoted to manager where I will be hiring staff (e.g making more jobs for Canadians)
I'm skeptical. I get applying for an LMIA for very specific, rare jobs in obscure areas, but for a marketing job I doubt they'd consider it. What do you guys think?
