Is it weird to send out supporting documents unasked?

I am wondering; my husband and I had no joint account or owned anything together when we originally sent out our application, however, we have both now and I'm wondering if it's odd to send these documents in as proof without being asked for additional proof?
I'm just hoping that the more proof we send in the better our chances of getting pushed through without delays.
I am going to send in our pregnancy proof as I believe it is a very important part of our application; would it be odd to send more?
If you're sending in proof of your pregnancy anyway, my guess is it wouldn't hurt to send the other stuff as well.
Others might be able to comment on if that would produce some delays, I don't know myself.
Personally, I submitted some extra relationship proof when I submitted a second Police Certificate they had requested. (The package is still in the mail so don't know if it will cause delays.) We submitted our spousal application immediately (6 weeks) after marriage, and since then, we've combined finances and bought a house, moved in together and had a wedding reception (we only had a civil ceremony and photo shoot before we applied) so I included evidence of the new stuff. Since we met in person and married within a few months, we figured it was best to send them more proof even if it resulted in a delay of a few weeks or months. The alternative is being asked to an interview - and an interview in Japan where there is no visa office might not happen immediately. Not to mention, as I am now in Canada, it would be costly and a hassle for me to fly to Japan for the interview.
