I am very glad to find this website.
I have some questions about Canada PR card. Wish could get hlep here.
I am from China. My fiance is Canadian. We are working and living in Thailand now. We plan to get married in the coming August.
My questions are:
After we get married, is it possible for me to apply a Canada PR card even my husband is not living in Canada. For now, we donot have plan to move to live in Canada soon.
We plan to have a baby soon as well. Could the baby get Canada citizenship with his or her birth while we are not living in Canada?
In order for you to qualify for PR, your husband will have to prove that you have plans to return to Canada and live there as soon as your PR visa is granted. If you have no plans to move back to Canada soon, then you should hold off applying until you do.
Whether the baby is automatically a Canadian citizen depends on how your husband obtained his citizenship. If he was born in Canada or obtained citizenship through immigration - then the baby will be a citizen automatically. If your husband recieved citizenship through descent - then the baby likely won't be a citizen and will have to be sponsored for PR along with you.
