is it possible for spouse to travel before primary applicant?

Hi,
I am the primary applicant. Is it possible for my wife to travel to Canada first and then I can go after a couple of months?
Or is it mandatory for the primary applicant to go first ?

Dependents can either accompany the primary applicant or travel after them, but never before.
