Hope you all are doing, please help me out with my query.
Me and my husband are planing to go for Express entry for Canada as a couple. we need to get an answer for a question before applying. Actually our parents were not ready for our marriage so we went for a registered marriage. we have the relevant documents for the same. after the date of marriage we applied for our passport and on them we show our status single. now we are planning to apply as couple will this thing will affect our application any way. though we have the registered document or our marriage.
please answer whether the marriage certificate itself is suffice or we need to make alteration in our passports.

1. Your marriage is legally valid even though you did not have a ceremonial/religious ceremony.
2. Hope you realize that you and your husband have committed misrepresentation and fraud by applying for passports as 'Unmarried' when you were already married.
3. The marriage certificate will suffice for EE.
4. It is advisable to have a surname/family name in your passport. Merely having a first name does not identify you whether it is for your passport or any other documents
