Is it good/bad idea to delay citizenship test

My wife got letter for citizenship test on July 2nd week.
Currently we are in US in and between few things.
Is it a bad idea to postpone the test (may cause any complications?)
If its okay, what is the procedure and do they give any confirmation on the spot?
