Hello all,

I am planning to apply for CEC.

My situation is that I am a foreign graduate from a Canadian post-secondary institution with two years of full-time working experience as an insurance broker. I have contracts with many insurance companies and financial institutions. I have worked more than 2000 hours, but I don't have basic salary, so commission only. I made above $30,000 this year. I see on the government website that insurance broker work experience is qualified as Skill Level B. Am I qualified for CEC?

I also have a small business (retail store). Annual sales about $150,000. Would it help?

Any answers would be appreciated!!! Thanks a lot !!!

this is a quote from CIC:

"Insurance brokers are employed by brokerage firms, or may work in partnerships or hold sole proprietorship. " <- Do you belong to one of these?

as for you retail store business, that would be considered self-employed so that job wouldn't count

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I am employed by brokerage firms. I have employ letter, but I don't have T4. I only receive T4A

If you were "employed" you would receive a T4. It sounds like you are self-employed to me...
