I'm planning to apply for study permit for myself and OWP for my wife. However, she has not taken up IELTS yet and there is very little time left for us; need to be in Canada by Aug 15, 2014. Can someone guide me to the appropriate information/website? Also, if IELTS is mandatory for her to obtain OWP, then can she apply for TRV and accompany me to Canada and then apply for OWP from inside Canada after she takes up the IELTS?

Not sure if the rules were changed or still the same but can somebody please let me know, whether IELTS is required for OPW for spouse?
We are applying together - My study permit and OPW for my spouse, I will be submitting my IELTS results but not sure about his. We don't have much time and we don't want to delay our application submission anymore. But we also don't want rejection. hehe.

IELTS 6.5 over all with no band lower than 6.0, would it high up the chance to get OWP for the spouse of the international student? TIA and have a nice day!

Yes definitely IELTS is a good skill for your spouse and it implies that he/she is able to communicate properly in english but for OWP other thing also considered like financial stability(both SP and OWP) duration of study, intention to back in home country(SP+OWP), future progression of course of SP etc. Thanks

My wife has been accepted to study in Seneca, I wouldapply for an OWP as her spouse.
About our financial condition, we have paid completely/fully the tuition fee and transferred 20,000CAD for GIC. I have saving accounts with 55,000CAD and my annual income after tax (I am working in the bank) in 2020 is 30,277 CAD. I also have an apartment (besides the apartment where my family is living now) and a car under my name and I am giving them for rent with total 20,000 CAD/year. There is an issue that most of my wife’s income is by cash not by bank transferred.
is there any risk that we could not get visa?
TIA!

Try to show two years cost (tuition & living) both of you. Show all your money source, tax assessment, asset evaluation, strong Study plan for pursuing the course, country tie etc. Best of luck
