Hi everyone,
I sent my initial application to Sydney in December without IELTS scores assuming that because i worked in NYC for ten years, it would satisfy the requirement. Do You think i did the right thing??. Thanks in advance for your comments

They usually ask for IELTS for applicant who doesn't speak english/french for his/her everyday language
cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language.asp
Note: If your first language is neither French nor English, CIC recommends taking either the IELTS test or the TEF before starting the application process. This will help you find out if you meet the minimum language requirement for your job.
Does It mean that they could either deny my application or ask to submit IELTS.??? or just deny the application.. I hope that is not the case...

After initial assessment you could be asked to submit ILETS score
they will not deny your application now
Hi Navvy100. Thank you so much for hopeful comments. Actually this is my resent applicatin. First time, i forgot to sign payment authorization form (could not belive that), which took two months. This time i am hoping it gets through without IELTS.
if i have to take it, i will do later. Anyway, thank you for your reply.

Hi if i am going to take academic ielts, arethey going to credit the result or i really need to do the general?any ideas plz.tnx
ielts is required if english is not your first(native) language
for immigration (canada) purposes, general training is enough. not sure though if academic is acceptable. but i think that will do considering academic is for me harder than gt. (someone has to confirm or correct me on this)
hope this helps
as far as i read from various posts in this forum, i understood that they need gt for immigration purposes. because they are cases where visa office asking for gt ielts even they have academic score.
you are required to attach the language proof with your applications start from 10-04-2010
