Is bank statement enough or I need bank letter as well?

I have my bank statement which mentions name, a/c number, closing balance and its on letter head of bank and is stamped by them. So do I need bank letter as well or statement enough?

Does your bank statement mention when the account was opened. No? Then you need a proper letter

no it doesn't and even the letter the provide won't have that (bank told us that) they have a set format where only name, a/c number, balance is mentioned
