Hello All
I am from India. I have a 4-year bachelor degree. I also completed a 1-year MBA programme from a reasonably well ranked University in Switzerland.
I have heard that 1-year Masters programmes carry no points. It has to be a 2-year programme.
1. Is this true? If yes, some top MBA programmes from IMD, INSEAD etc would be of no use to an applicant.
2. Should I do WES evaluation for my 1-year Masters even if CIC disregards it?

1. False. WES evaluates based on university and its degrees. If your uni and degree is a recognized, I dont see it as an issue. It should evaluate it as a MBA degree. Infact, check out their free evaluation tool - https://applications.wes.org/ca/degree-equivalency-tool/
2. WES evaluation is for your entire education. You don't need to apply separately for Bachelors and Masters. One application will cover both. Just apply for both to see what your MBA is evaluated as.
CIC will accept what WES has evaluated your degree as a Canadian equivalent!

It really depends. They didn't recognize my friend's masters and instead considered it as a 1 year diploma post graduation. Gives less points but definitely better than just a bachelor's.
