Hi, I applied for PR (AOR Oct 2019) through an agent. My agent told me they received an email from IRCC and then a phone call. They said that the email and phone number looked fishy (could be a private/blocked email/phone number I'm not sure) and when they called back, the number was out of service. Further, the agent also provided his/her contact number and initials in the email.
Has anyone received anything similar or been in this situation? The email looks odd and is from the windsor office (I don't even know if they have a windsor office), but it has the @cic.gc.ca at the end and has the correct application/UCI in the subject so I am not sure what to think.
If it has the right UCI in the subject it appears genuine (unless you or agent didn’t keep it confidential).
The domain it originates from appears to be correct as well. To be sure, inspect the email header and make sure the address wasn’t spoofed and it was sent from the CIC server. You will have to google how to do this for the email client / service you use.
You can also call IRCC (If you are in Canada) and ask to confirm they sent an email to you.
