Hello, we are holders of Refugee Travel Documents and we would like to apply for an Iranian visa to visit family members.
If we could manage to get a visa, does Canada have any problem with it? Will we look bad if we travel to Iran? Especially that I know Canada & Iran don’t work well together.
We’ve been away from family for nearly 7 years now & next summer is our chance to end this long wait.
Iraq is bordering Iran ... You risk a long search and interrogation on your return ... in addition to the risk that Iran sells you to your country of origin = expulsion in Iraq ... I do not advise you to do this trip .
Also, it must be remembered that the blue travel document does not confer any protection of the Canadian authorities for its carrier (it is even marked in the first page!)
Even worse: Iran has already detained, and even tortured to death Canadian citizens! ... There are several recent cases, ask google. Iran is not a safecountry , and does not respect human rights.
Also, the current government of Iraq ( shyyte ) is very friend to that of Iran ... You may well be detained, tortured, and returned to Iraq.

I have a Bahraini friend who travelled to Iran to see family members and returned to Canada safely with no problems at all, he belongs to the Shia sect in Islam.
