Today , my wife received a notification "Invitation to Pre-arrival services" from the CIC portal . Do you know what it means ? Is my wife application approved ?

the invitation just means your PA has passed eligibility, a good sign, but still not a guarantee of approval

your app can still be denied based on the background checks

do you know how long does it take for background check to be done? i received this pre arrival letter too. one week after my interview. how long should i wait for background check?

if you've applied after dec 2016, plan for 12 months from when you received AOR. if its been more than 12 months, order your notes and contact your MP to follow up on your app

the invitation just means your PA has passed eligibility, a good sign, but still not a guarantee of approval

your app can still be denied based on the background checks

Why tell just negative opinion , see the comments above all positive unlike your way , pre arrival invitation will be not sent to one could be refused as why they finance service for one will be rejected is that logical too .
As your opinion same as PR card mean nothing as can be revoked any time or can lose citizenship if you commit big crimes .
Try to pick your words as people already face enough stress of the process.

im not. im being realistic

as I mentioned, there is a good chance PR will be granted. but pre-arrival invite are not a guarntee you will be granted PR as approval also depends on the background checks which are usually done after elegibility is passed

hi. i have the same situation. i had my interview 3 weeks ago and week after interview i received pre arrival services email, but in interview day i was told that they need to do my background check before issuing the visa. so i think the officer is satisfied to issue the visa and she sent the pre arrival letter to me but she needs to get my background check first.
I hope all goes well.

yes...that means eligibility has passed.

Hi, my son received the same pre-arrival invitation a few days ago as well. We live in Ontario, and OHIP is apparently available for people for have applied for PR and are eligible and have not yet been denied. Like most people are saying, if getting this invitation means that my son is eligible for PR, does that mean he can apply for OHIP?

It mean you passed eligibility and interview next is they finalize background check and issue passport request or medical and then visa congratulations
