Hello,
I wanted to understand if there are good job prospects for Investment banking professionals in Canada? I am in the process of starting my application for Canada migration and have 10+ yrs of work experience in handling investment banking operations for big banks like Credit-Suisse, E*Trade, StateStreet and CITI. Thus thought of gaining some insight through this forum to understand whether Canada hires investment banking professionals who have migrated on PR basis?
Additionally, Just wanted to know how to enrol for a job bank? Is it online or one needs to approach some recruitment agent once they land in Canada?
It will be a great help if someone could provide insight on the above...
Thanks,
Saurabh

Majority of banks are downsizing. It is an extremely competitive industry to get into but with Brexit and issues in HK plus many Canadians returning from NYC due to the pandemic (or traditionally because they have kids getting ready for school) so it now an is EXTREMELY competitive industry to get into and there is no way Canada can absorb all these people. Canada is a small market. Still an industry where you often need a good contact to get an interview or go to the right school and get recruited through that. If you have a good job elsewhere I would really consider why you are moving to Canada.

Thanks for the response... Currently am unemployed and have been trying to look for a job for quite some time now here in India. But unfortunately, havent been able to secure one yet with the matching profile. Thus thought of exploring this option.

Would be looking at other countries in Asia. If you are having trouble getting a job in India expect it to be very hard in Canada.
