Hi guys - thank you for replying in an expedite manner - this is urgent

So my profile is in the pool with 441 points.
The current MNC I work with has given a approval of offering me a Job in Canada, considering the following written on the CRS calculator:

8) Do you have a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (if needed)?
A valid job offer must be
  • full-time
  • in a skilled job listed as Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B in the 2011 National Occupational Classification
  • supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or exempt from needing one
  • for one year from the time you become a permanent resident
Considering there is no mention of already worked in Canada, the following statement holds true:
  1. Full time
  2. Skill Level A
  3. LMIA exempt - as intra company transfer
  4. For over a year
Can I claim 50 points for a valid job offer in Canada?
If not - why? Because I did not find one official article saying you must have a work permit or should have worked in Canada before.

TIA

No. You cannot claim 50 points. To claim the 50 points your employer either needs to get an approved LMIA. Or you have to move to Canada on an ICT work permit and work for your employer in Canada for a full year.

Thanks - can you give me a legit source to this?

It's all on the IRCC web site. If you're on a closed work permit that is LMIA exempt then you don't qualify for the job offer points until you've worked for a year in Canada. This is a very well known rule. If you're in doubt then wander over to the Express Entry section of the forum and ask your question there. You'll get the same answer.

And actually, you've already provided the official source. Go up to you post with the quote from the IRCC site and click on the link that reads "if needed".

For you to claim those points, your company will need to give you a separate offer letter (in addition to one for WP, if you are coming to ) that says that if you qualify for PR, they will hire you for 1 year.

@scylla I have seen a case like this in my workplace. The person was here on a closed WP which was issued as LMIA exempt due to ICT. They needed a new job offer which mentioned that they will be hired for 1 year or more if they were to qualify for PR, from their date of becoming PR.

The important part is "from the time you become PR".

but would that suffice for me to claim the points because I have not worked for them in Canada - just in my home country.

Yes, as long as you have the approved LMIA.
