Interview Process-Family Sponsorship

Hello,
This is my first time having to do a family sponsorship. I believe our documentation was a completed correctly and we have now reached the interview process. My husband goes for the interview in about 2 weeks time, any tips of this process would be greatly appreciated.
Wish everyone well who is going through this process, it definitely isn't an easy one.

Did you apply inland or outland? Is it a relationship interview or landing interview?

It was sent to Sydney Nova Scotia first and then sent to Kingston Jamaica. (where my husband is from). I believe this is a relationship interview but in the letter they did not state Relationship or Landing. They requested him to bring his passport along with the letter that was sent to us.

Sounds like you applied outland - in this case it would be a relationship interview which indicates they have doubts about the relationship or application.

Which is what I assumed as most that are from Jamaica get an interview, from what I heard.

Now our interview got cancelled with a sentence saying “wait for further response from our office”

I've seen other offices cancel interviews right before the date of interview. That's absolutely terrible they do this, can't help but feel bad for the people that waste all that money on travel fees.

Speaking from experience with the Jamaica office it's not always a relationship interview. In our group the letter they send is a template letter but most persons in the group they go in and the Visa rep ask very basic questions like "what will you do in Canada " nothing about the validity of the relationship.


But if your circumstances warrant a different interview only you would know such as if there is a large age gap, previous sponsor. But generally the inteview thru KVO is not relationship based on our group and the people that went to these.
